Bueller? Bueller?... Anyone? Anyone?

Growing up in the 80's had it's advantages, thanks to movie-makers like John Hughes, who passed away, unexpectedly, yesterday, at the age of 59. John Hughes made movies about teens..for teens. I can't even begin to count how many times I quoted a line from a John Hughes movie in the 80's and early 90's. There were just so many characters, lines, situations, and laughs in his movies that are still receiving their due to this day. Just a few weeks ago, I sat down with my teenage daughters and watched, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. They laughed and laughed, and on more than one occasion said, "Ok dad, now I know where you got that." I was busted. All this time my girls thought I was a clever, witty and funny dad who was always ready with a quick comeback or the perfect 'line' in a conversation. They realized, as did I, that my lexicon was filled with quotes from John Hughes movies.
Mr. Mom
National Lampoon's Vacation
16 Candles
The Breakfast Club
Weird Science
Pretty in Pink
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Some Kind of Wonderful
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Uncle Buck
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Home Alone
Curly Sue

I dare you to pick just one favorite from this list. If one had the opportunity to go through life with a script-writer following them around, so they would always have the perfect thing to say at any given time, I would have wanted John Hughes following me, because, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it."
